It’s an understatement to say the music industry is chock-full of pop musicians. With so many people pursuing the same genre, it’s easy for a pop star to seem like another carbon copy. But MIKA still manages to distinguish himself. He’s an old hand in the music industry at this point; after ten years releasing critically-acclaimed albums and singles, he still brings something fresh to the table with every new tune.
His songs explore themes of LGBT conflicts and other social issues in a way that is unapologetic yet not preachy. Dance to songs like Grace Kelly while thinking about the cutthroat nature of record label executives, and scream along with all your friends, celebrating your camaraderie, with It’s My House.
MIKA makes somewhat controversial and delicate topics easily accessible to the mass with his fun and psychedelic dance pop, and his individualism makes him an artist hard NOT to like. If you like feel-good songs full of clever lyrics and whimsical beats, MIKA is for you.
