And it isn’t just for younger Falcons

From December 1st to the 8th, the Campus Center Library will be hosting the annual Book Fair. According to Lower School Librarian Mrs. Heather Millican, there are books and trinkets for everyone, from the youngest reader to adults and everyone in between.

The Book Fair is open to everyone, and that includes the upper school, but let’s be honest— it’s pretty rare to see high school students shopping. But this really shouldn’t be the case. Mrs. Sally McClure, who is spearheading the library volunteer position, said the fair has multiple purposes.

“It’s not just the book fair and the selling of the books, but the money actually does go back to the school, and upper school kids should get gifts for their friends and family.”

Finding that perfect gift for Christmas is always difficult, but the Book Fair makes that inconvenience much more convenient, with a lot of curated options to choose from.

Along with gifts, the money raised for the lower school is very beneficial to the school as a whole.

“In the lower school, every class last Christmas, after the Book Fair, got $500 to spend for their class rooms,” McClure said.

The Book Fair may seem like something only younger divisions attend, but it can be very helpful not only for the person buying the gifts, but also the lower school Falcons, who will see their classrooms improved by sales.
