On January 11th, the senior class gathered at the home of Head of School Mr. Peter Kraft for the annual Senior Breakfast
Senior Breakfast is a unique, Saint Stephen’s tradition where seniors and advisors gather and have breakfast together to reflect on the accomplishments, challenges, and triumphs on each senior’s journey toward graduation.
The breakfast, hosted in the Kraft’s pristine backyard garden, served as an opportunity for seniors to reminisce over their years together, to converse with faculty, and to thank them for the guidance and support.
In terms of food, the seniors were well taken care of. Poppi’s Place catered, from bacon to French Toast to croissants coated with Nutella, so good everyone went back for seconds.
Food aside, the greatest treat of all was the memories made. Senior Evie Baugher thoroughly enjoyed the Senior Breakfast.
“I thought it was such an amazing experience. The food was so good, but more than that, the time shared with my classmates was the highlight of my experience.”
At the end of breakfast, the senior advisories gathered to take photos.
Lead senior advisor Mr. Hoonhout reminisced on his time with his advisory, a group that calls itself “The HoonHouse.”
“Our advisories are together for four years, sharing in the ups and downs in each other’s journey, so senior breakfast as the beginning of our goodbyes was an emotional time.”
Advisories have bonded to become a second family, so these last few photos serve to capture the sentimental moments seniors will remember as they journey out into the world.
The final activity seniors participated in was the SSES Falcon Quiz. Questions were designed to test the seniors’ knowledge of Saint Stephen’s. The trickiest question included the Saint Stephen’s Alma Mater.
In all, the Senior Breakfast was a lovely experience, a great start to the beginning of the senior traditions that lead up to graduation.
