On Thursday, March 1,3 at 6 pm, the Falcon Playhouse is set to premiere The Addams Family Musical: School Edition, the beginning of a run of shows up until the 21st. For dates, times, and ticket sales, head to this link.
For the past three months, our resident actors and actresses have been busy memorizing lines, figuring out blocking, and training their voices for the stage.
Junior Sawyer Girgis plays Gomez Addams in the show, and he commented on the closeness of the opening night.
“There’s definitely some stress building the week before the show,” Girgis said. “But we’re able to toss back and forth our ideas with the directors, so there is some space for student creative intervention.”
The hidden force behind this show has been those helping from backstage, known as stagehands. Blake Lynch, a sophomore stagehand, thinks it’s a good way to help out for the show.
“I don’t like being in the spotlight,” Lynch says, “so it’s nice to help out behind the scenes and hang out with some friends while watching the show come together.”
The Falcon Playhouse invites everyone to buy tickets at Givesmart, join the fun, and experience the quirky charm of The Addams Family. It’s sure to be a night filled with laughter, surprises, and a celebration of the hard work that has brought this darkly comedic tale to the stage.
