It’s that time of year again.
Elections for next year’s Student Council will take place tomorrow, Thursday, during an assembly in the US Commons. StuCo is essentially the student government: they plan events, hold fundraisers, and take on leadership roles in decision-making on campus. Student voting for next year’s council will follow nominees’ speeches tomorrow.
“I like the leadership… and how I get to bring people joy, I would say,” current president Victoria Neiva, said. “I can coordinate things that people get to look forward to and get excited about.”
Neiva added that joining the Student Council is a good way to get involved.
“People should join the student council to become more involved and influence what makes people’s days better. You work hard to make other peoples days better
With the elections happening tomorrow, it is important to remember to cast your vote wisely. According to Nevia, one should vote for the best candidate, before voting for a best friend.
“Remember that their futures are in their hands right now, they should definitely make the right choice, rather than the funny or the silly choice,” Neiva said.
