Thursday, Saint Stephen’s students have been presented with a valuable opportunity. Brooke Kernan, a Saint Stephen’s alumna, is coming to campus to share some of her experiences in the post-SSES “real world” during a brown bag lunch. Kernan began her career in law prosecuting misdemeanor cases and working in the traffic court in Pinellas County.

Soon after being named misdemeanor lead trial attorney, she was promoted to felony cases. After being transferred to the Manatee/Sarasota Circuit, she was moved to Sarasota for a permanent felony position. In less than two months, Brooke was the lead prosecutor in what was to become the first human trafficking conviction in the Sarasota Circuit Court.

In June ’17, Brooke was promoted to a special prosecution position titled “Capital Sexual Batteries,” where she continues to work today. Come listen to Brooke Kernan’s story in the boardroom this Thursday, and don’t forget to bring a lunch!
