This year is twentieth annual Alexi Tucker Memorial Art Show. This is a huge event for the art world at SSES, and always features quality, compelling art works.

The show was named after a former SSES student Alexi Tucker,  who was an adept art student. She sadly passed away in a fatal car accident in 1997. Her family contributes to the gallery and also supports the yearly art shows.

The 2017-2018 art show occurs on Monday, March 19th, and is located in the upper school Russell building (where the art classes take place). The show reception is from 5:00PM-6:45PM, and the awards will be given at 6:00PM.

Along with the awards, there will be the announcing of the National Art Honors Society Members and the Visual Arts Conservatory Distinction Candidates.  Directly following the art show reception will be the Masterworks Concert, performed by Falcon musicians, at 6:45PM.

The Alexi Tucker Art Show is a great way for students to showcase their skills and hard work. Students from all grade levels in the upper school participate in the art show, and their artwork is carefully selected by the art department to be displayed in the show.

Middle school and lower school art work is on display in the upper school library in the Holmes building.  Though their art work is not apart of the juried show, it is still on display for people to view. Attending the art show is a great way to show support for the school and the community, as well as witness the talent of our art department.

We’ll see you there this coming Monday!
