October 15, 2014
The themes for day two of Spirit Week were Universal Studios and Warner Bros. Many students rose to the challenge and had costumes that went above and beyond, but the Oscars went to…

It was not an easy day for students that participated in the mattress race. Each grade selected their strongest, most agile competitors to represent their grade in the race. There were struggles, mattresses and people falling all over the place, but students persevered. On the other hand, some fell way more than others (we all know who I’m talking about). Overall, students gave it their best and the results are: the seniors in first place, followed by the juniors, then sophomores, and finally the freshmen, who tried but really couldn’t compete.
Moving on to Day three, the theme was Disney and students glided about in there most elegant Disney costumes all day.
The dance off was one of the most heated competitions I’ve seen so far was on this crazy “Week in Hollywood.” The theme was Disney and every grade danced their little hearts out while singing and dancing along to High School Musical. Students battled it out on the dance floor, all competing for first place. Students were practicing for weeks to perfect their dance move techniques. Here are the results:
1st place- Seniors
2nd place- Juniors
3rd place- Sophomores
4th place- Freshmen
The Freshmen being new to the high school, really impressed everyone.
The Sophomores definitely stepped up their game and got bonus points from the crowd because of their devotedness to the music.
The Juniors got major points for being the one grade that did not start with Lion King and showed talent when it came to visual aid.
The Senior class finished with a heartwarming tribute to all its the class of 2015 that truly pulled on everyone’s heartstrings. When all was said and done, the Seniors came out on top.
And the day didn’t end there. The costumes were truly magical. Students came in complete Disney princess dresses and mighty God costumes. The Oscar winners were basic yet creative, and embodied the true meaning of Disney.
