Winter (In)formal is coming; exclusive update on the winter dance

Information about Winter Formal (or is it “informal”) is leaked. Get ready for it.

Rumors have been circulating that there won’t be a winter formal dance this year. Is this true? Or is this the Student Council playing games with us?

In previous years, Winter Formal has had issues with low attendance rates, which doesn’t couple well with the high expenses of the venue. As a result, Winter Formal dances have received very little attention from the student body.

This year, however, Student Council has decided to reform the dance in order to draw in more students, even those who don’t usually like dances. Students should anticipate these new changes for the dance in January.  One of the major changes, along with those below, will be the expense.  The Winter (In)formal will be far less expensive this year.

Mr. Hoonhout, Student Council advisor, has described this new event as, “a dance with swagger.”

This dance, unlike Formals in the past, will be supplemented with events and activities (think face paint, photo red carpets, sporting competitions, etc.) to keep the interest levels high.

Previously, the DJ and music-selection reviews have been poor due to repetitive, old songs. This year, Ben Whorf, Rishab Ramamurthy, and a team of music enthusiasts are in charge of creating a trendy, hyped playlist that they say will be “fire.”

With better music and conditions, this year’s winter dance is not something you should miss.

In a rare mistake, the Student Council inadvertently leaked  additional information that may change the expectations of the Winter Formal dance. According to sources, there is to be a “huge surprise” during the dance.

The Gauntlet is not here to speculate.  You’ll have to be there to find out.

Could this be the location of the (In)formal? You’ll know when The Gauntlet knows.
