The Varsity girls’ soccer team dominated in their game against Bradenton Christian on Wednesday night, shutting out the Panthers in their first home game of the season.
The Falcons scored early in the first half, with senior Hannah Howell sending the ball into the net for the first goal of the night. They quickly racked up four more points, with goals from Howell, junior Kristi Jones and freshman Lindsay Leskinen.
The score was 5-0, Falcons, going into the second half. Seven minutes in, Sedillo scored her first goal of the night. Junior Kayla Hayes quickly followed up with a goal of her own before Sedillo scored the final goal of the night off an assist from junior Becca Banks, putting the Falcons up 8-0 and mercying the Panthers.
Banks, who plays center back for the Falcons, said the team was excited about the win.
“We couldn’t have done it without the strong leadership from our seniors, who always guide us in the right direction. BCS has always been a rival so it’s great to come out with an 8-0 win,” she said.
