In this week’s installment of Athlete of the Week, we feature girls varsity basketball star, Claudia Sbaschnik.

Last week, the girls varsity basketball team played in the district tournament. In the first game, the Falcons faced off against The Imagine School of North Port.

After taking a 20-11 lead into the halftime break, the Falcons never looked back and rolled on to win 47-35. In this game, Claudia scored 13 of the Falcons’ 47 points, helping them advance to the district final.

Last Friday, the Falcons took on the Panthers of Bradenton Christian School. In this cross-town rivalry game, the Falcons suffered a tough loss, 51-33. Although they lost, the Falcons will advance to the regional tournament this week. In the game, Claudia had another strong performance finishing off a solid week.

With a great stat line over the course of the week, Claudia Sbaschnik helped secure a spot in the regional tournament for the Falcons. Even with suffering a tough loss to cross-town rival BCS, the Falcons will advance.
