Latin teacher Mr. Revard proudly shared his summer of traveling.

Mr. Revard

Anyone can count on Mr. Revard, head of the foreign language department at Saint Stephen’s, to always have an interesting story up his sleeve. Mr. Revard has taught at Saint Stephen’s for 19 years, instructing classes on Latin and Greek. Every day, kids ask him about his exciting adventures in Greece and Rome; this year was no different. Over the summer, Mr. Revard went on multiple trips, attended intense baseball games, and took the Saint Stephen’s Latin team to Nationals.

To kick off the summer, Mr. Revard took a trip to St. Louis to watch one of his favorite baseball teams, the St. Louis Cardinals. He was able to watch the Cards play Atlanta with terrific seats.

He spent the rest his summer in Georgia working on his seven-acre property as he “hacked wisteria and pulled out bushes.” Even during the summer, Mr. Revard is just as hard of a worker.

At the end of July, Revard took our Latin team to the National Competition in Lafayette, Louisiana, the first in-person competition in two years. “We had nine students from Saint Stephens go, and they did extraordinarily well. Some of them came back with first place finishes.”

Mr. Revard explained how this was his 21st year going to Latin Nationals in person.

When asking Mr. Revard what his most important takeaway was, he concluded, “It was really good to do things that were normal, and to see lots of people, and to smile and have a good time with a lot of people, for really practically the first time in a couple of years.”
